How the fee is calculated

One post of the main format is priced on what a brand would otherwise pay to reach the same people:

  • Fee = expected views ÷ 1,000 × platform rate per 1,000 views × size premium × engagement × niche × audience location × format
  • Expected views are your real average views if you enter them. Otherwise we estimate them from followers: smaller accounts often reach more than their following on Reels (around 1.1× at 10K), big ones less (around 0.48× at 10 lakh), and other platforms are scaled against that curve.
  • Size premium: nano 0.95×, micro 1×, mid-tier 1.05×, macro 1.1×, mega 1.2× — brands pay a little more per view for bigger names.
  • Engagement moves the fee by up to ±20%: double the typical rate for your size is +20%, half is −20%. Leave it blank and it counts as typical.
  • If the result is below the platform minimum, the minimum is used.

Influencer fee calculator: common questions

How much should I charge for an Instagram reel in India?

By our model, a reel from a creator with 30K followers (about 27.9K expected views) is worth around ₹14,000, with a walk-away floor of ₹11,000. At 5 lakh followers it is around ₹1,49,000. Niche, audience location and engagement move these numbers, and paid usage rights are charged on top.

How is an influencer fee calculated?

Expected views ÷ 1,000 × the platform's rate per 1,000 views (₹500 on Instagram), adjusted for account size, engagement, niche, audience location and format. Then add paid usage rights, exclusivity and extras, and take a small discount for bundles of more than one deliverable.

Should I charge extra if a brand wants to run my reel as an ad?

Yes. Organic posting and paid usage are different things. We add 25% of the fee for one month of paid usage, 45% for three months, 70% for six and 100% for twelve. Whitelisting — ads running from your own handle — is another 25%.

Do I have to charge GST on influencer fees?

If you are GST-registered, yes — add 18% GST on the full value of the deal, including any product you get in barter, and the brand pays it in cash on your invoice. Registration is compulsory once your yearly turnover from services crosses ₹20 lakh (₹10 lakh in some special-category states). Below that, you can still register voluntarily. Ask a CA for your own case.

Why did the brand pay me less than my invoice?

Probably TDS. Once a brand's payments to you pass ₹50,000 in a year, it may deduct 10% TDS on professional fees — section 393 of the Income-tax Act 2025 (section 194J earlier). Some brands deduct 1–2% under the contract provision (194C earlier) instead. It is calculated on your cash fee excluding GST and deposited against your PAN, so you can claim it back when you file your return. Check Form 26AS to see it.

How much is a barter collaboration worth?

We count a product at 60% of its retail price — what it is worth to you, not its MRP — and let it cover at most half the fee. For example, a ₹10,000 product against a ₹14,000 reel is a ₹6,000 credit, so you would still invoice ₹8,000 in cash. If you charge GST, it is on the full ₹14,000. Any TDS on the product (section 194R earlier) is the brand's to handle separately — it isn't taken from your cash.

How much do YouTubers charge for a sponsored video in India?

In our model a dedicated video from a channel with 1 lakh subscribers (about 28.2K expected views) is around ₹53,500; a 60–90 second integration inside a regular video is around ₹26,500. Enter your real average views for a much better estimate.

Should I give a discount for multiple posts?

A small one. We take 4% off for each deliverable after the first, up to 15% — so 2 reels get 4% off and 5 or more get the full 15%. Bigger discounts train brands to expect them.
