How the rate card is priced
Every card starts from one number: your baseline, the price of one main-format post (a reel, a dedicated YouTube video, a LinkedIn or X post). It comes from the same engine as our influencer fee calculator: your average views ÷ 1,000 × the platform’s rate per 1,000 views, adjusted for account size, engagement, niche and audience location, with a minimum fee for small accounts. If you leave views blank we estimate them from your followers.
Format multipliers
Each deliverable is priced as a share of the baseline, rounded to a price people quote.
| Platform | Format | × baseline |
|---|---|---|
| Reel | 1× | |
| Carousel post | 0.75× | |
| Static post | 0.6× | |
| Story (one frame) | 0.25× | |
| YouTube | Dedicated video | 1× |
| Integration (60–90s in a video) | 0.5× | |
| Short | 0.3× | |
| Post | 1× | |
| Document / carousel | 1.2× | |
| Video | 1.3× | |
| X (Twitter) | Post | 1× |

Usage rights and add-ons
Both are a percentage of the package after the discount, added on top.

The sum is rounded to the nearest ₹100 (₹500 above ₹10,000, ₹1,000 above ₹1 lakh). That is your quote.
Barter, GST and TDS
- Barter: a product counts at 60% of its retail value and covers at most half the quote. The rest is the cash fee.
- GST: 18% on the full quote, barter included, only if you’re registered. The brand pays it in cash on the invoice.
- TDS: brands may deduct 10% of the cash fee as professional fees (section 393 of the Income-tax Act 2025, earlier 194J) once their payments to you pass ₹50,000 in a year; some deduct 1–2% under the contract provision (earlier 194C) instead. You get it back against your tax. TDS on a barter product (earlier 194R) is the brand’s to handle separately.

Rate card maker: common questions
What should a rate card for an influencer include?
Your handle and platform, followers and average views, each deliverable with a unit price, any package discount, what usage rights the price covers, extras like exclusivity or raw files, the total, your payment terms, and whether GST is added on top. This maker puts all of that on one card.
How much should a 30K-follower Instagram creator charge for a reel and stories?
With 20,000 average views, our model prices one reel at about ₹10,000 and each story frame at ₹2,500. A reel plus three stories comes to ₹17,500 before the 12% package discount, so ₹15,400. Paid ads for 30 days adds 25% of that and writing the concept adds 15%, for a quote of about ₹21,500.
How are stories, carousels and Shorts priced against a reel or video?
Every format is a fixed share of your main-format price. On Instagram a carousel is 75% of a reel, a static post 60% and one story frame 25%. On YouTube an integration is 50% of a dedicated video and a Short 30%. The full table is in "How the rate card is priced" below.
Should I give brands a discount for a package?
A small one is normal. We take 4% off for each deliverable after the first, capped at 15%, so four deliverables get 12% off and five or more get 15%. Discount the bundle, not your unit rate, so a single reel still costs the full price.
How much extra should I charge if a brand runs my content as ads?
Usage rights are priced as a share of the package after discount: 15% if the brand reposts it organically, 25% for 30 days of paid ads, 45% for 90 days, and 100% for a perpetual buyout on any channel.
Can a brand pay me in products instead of money?
Partly. We count a product at 60% of its retail price, since that is roughly what it is worth to you, and let it cover at most half the quote. The rest should be paid in cash. If you charge GST, it is on the full quote, product included. Any TDS on the product (earlier section 194R) is the brand’s to handle separately — it isn’t taken from your cash.
Do I add GST and is TDS deducted on influencer payments?
If you are GST-registered, add 18% GST on the full value of the deal — including any product you get in barter — and the brand pays it in cash on your invoice. Brands may also deduct 10% TDS on your cash fee as professional fees (section 393 of the Income-tax Act 2025, earlier 194J) once their payments to you pass ₹50,000 in a year; some deduct 1–2% under the contract provision (earlier 194C) instead. It is deposited against your PAN and you claim it back when you file your return. TDS on a barter product (earlier 194R) is the brand's to handle separately. The card shows the invoice total and what reaches your account.
Can I share my rate card as a Reel or Story?
Yes. "Make film" records a 15-second 1080×1920 video of your card in your browser. Chrome and Safari save it as MP4, which uploads straight to Instagram; some browsers can only save WebM, which you would need to convert first.
Is this rate card maker free?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up, and runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.
